SOPHIE VAN DOOREN

Sophie van Dooren is a Contemporary Designer and Artist. She graduated in February 2022 from The Institute of Arts in Maastricht, where she focused on material research and mastering goldsmith technics.

 

In her work she deals with themes related to nature. In doing so, she observes how this theme relates to humanity. Her inspiration and fascination lies with the pressure that we as humans place on both nature, and the globe. She searches for visual explanations. In her jewelry design she creates an interaction between the jewelry piece has with it’s wearer.

 

Sophie is fascinated by details in structure, colour, shape and texture of nature. She becomes inspired by a natural products such as cactus skeletons or insects. Based on the chosen material she experiments with the shape, color, pattern, thickness and more. In her projects she is guided by a specific material that ultimately helps her with searching for an image.
